Some of these fungus have medicinal properties according to Chinese medicine. My dad's friend would go around neighborhoods here in the Valley and collect them and brew his own elixir... that's so old school, ha. Great color and great find.

Great detail and colors... the shapes of those things can get quite weird, that one looks like ... brains.

@zahai: Thank you zahai. You're right, they're almost like snow flakes, no two will look exactly the same. The colors on this one shown waaaay across the Park area I was in, so I walked over to see what it was, and there it was...it's beautiful. Thanks again for the review.
I love this shot Robert. I find it fascinating that fungi can be so colorful and yet (in general) we tend to ignore them. The Aztecs used to eat a fungus called "Huitlacoche." It is not colorful at all, but it was incredibly nutritious.
